Privacy
This page describes what data sunhour collects, why it is collected, and what your rights are. We have written it to be readable, not to be legally bulletproof. Last updated: June 2026.
The short version
We do not require an account. We do not store any personal data about you in our database. We display advertising (Google AdSense) and use Google Analytics 4 to count page visits. Both set cookies. EU/UK/Swiss visitors see a consent banner before any non-essential tracking runs. If you reject, you only see non-personalized ads and we receive no analytics data tied to you.
Who runs this site
sunhour is operated by Info Media. Contact for any privacy-related question: [email protected].
What data we process
- Your IP address — looked up against the free ip-api.com geolocation service to pre-fill the calculator with your approximate city. The IP is not stored in our database; ip-api.com receives the lookup. Results are cached for five minutes server-side.
- Standard web-server access logs (URL, timestamp, user agent) — rotated and deleted after 14 days. Used only for debugging and abuse detection.
- Google Analytics 4 events — page views and basic interactions. IP anonymization is enabled. Only fires after consent in the EU/UK/Switzerland.
- Google AdSense impression and click data — handled by Google. We do not see individual user-level data; we only see aggregate reports.
What we do not do
- No account, no signup, no email collection.
- No precise GPS coordinates unless you type them in yourself or your browser asks for permission and you grant it.
- No selling of data to third parties.
- No tracking pixels beyond Google Analytics and AdSense.
Cookies and local storage
sunhour itself uses two pieces of client-side storage:
sunhour-themeinlocalStorage— remembers your light/dark theme choice.- A standard Laravel session cookie — required for things like CSRF protection on form-style endpoints. No tracking.
Third parties (Google AdSense, Google Analytics, the Google Consent Management Platform) set their own cookies. See the dedicated cookie policy for the full list and purposes.
Advertising — Google AdSense
This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to:
- Show personalized or non-personalized ads (depending on your consent).
- Measure ad performance and detect fraud.
- Build interest profiles in aggregate.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at myadcenter.google.com or globally via YourOnlineChoices.com (EU). Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent banner powered by the Google Consent Management Platform before any personalized ads load. Choosing "reject" disables personalized ads and limits ad-related cookies.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled and ad personalization signals disabled. EU/UK/Swiss visitors must accept analytics in the consent banner before any GA4 event fires. You can also use the browser-level opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Third-party services
- ip-api.com — IP geolocation. Privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage stats. Privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — advertising. How Google uses ad data.
- Google Fonts — typography (Fraunces, Inter, JetBrains Mono). Served via Google's CDN.
